We support forest restoration projects that regenerate ecosystems and generate a positive impact in local communities.

What it means to contribute to forest restoration

It is not just about planting trees. Restoring a forest means taking long-term action to recover degraded ecosystems through solutions tailored to each area, such as assisted natural regeneration, ecological restoration, agroforestry, fire prevention and working closely with local communities.

A long-term collaboration

Our collaboration with WeForest began in 2023. Since then, we have supported a range of forest restoration projects, such as Pontal in Brazil, and we continue to move forward with new initiatives in different regions around the world.

We understand forest restoration as an ongoing process, based on knowledge of the landscape, monitoring of results, and cooperation with expert organisations and local communities.

Projects we currently support

Brazil

Tietê Forests

In the Tietê river basin, in the state of São Paulo, this project works to restore the Atlantic Forest by recovering degraded areas and improving the ecological connectivity of the landscape.

In addition to ecological restoration, the project promotes agroforestry systems and works with local farmers to strengthen more sustainable production practices.

Malawi

Mount Mulanje

At Mount Mulanje, WeForest works on restoring the miombo ecosystem by combining assisted natural regeneration, fire management, agroforestry and stronger forest governance.

The aim is to conserve existing forests, restore degraded areas and strengthen the resilience of local communities through more sustainable livelihoods.
