Trends and inspiration for restaurants

We are seeing lately, in newly opened or uphalled businesses in our villages and cities, that there is a trend coming from the north that looks like it is here to stay.

Coming onto the scene is the warmth of non-treated wood, nature, hand made and natural elements like cork, hemp and slate, re-enforcing the messages of healthy eating, the importance of using local ingredients, businesses committed to being green and a personal treatment towards customers.

Here are the elements that can reinforce the promise that you make to your customers:

NON-TREATED WOOD, HEMP AND BLACKBOARDS

Introducing non-treated wooden elements in clear tones will give a rustic, elegant and soft touch to your business. Using wooden boxes to show or to store certain products can be a modern and contemporary solution. If you combine it with led lighting or garlands, you will get a remarkable result.

Blackboards have always been a resource in the hotel industry, showing menus. Nowadays they are also used to create a friendly atmosphere with positive quotes, jokes and illustrations. Even some artists have specialized in blackboard art.

tablemats in yellow straw

Combining tablemats in yellow straw colour with grey napkins gives a rustic and autumnal air to your place.

SIMPLE AND IMPERFECT HANDICRAFT

Using handcrafted elements as decoration or equipment in a modern place, gives a human touch to the straight lines of current designs. Wicker baskets, chairs made of hemp, lamps made of straw, bamboo tablemats, wooden tableware, palm containers… these are all made of natural fibres that remind the client of “things from the olden days”; objects made with simplicity and dedication.

Garcia de Pou lavender napkins

The purple colour is this year’s trend. Combine lavender napkins with pinks and reds to surprise your clients.

NATURE INSIDE

It’s not only about putting flowers in vases on tables. Vertical gardens are a top trend. A trend that fills coffeshops and restaurants full of green and of life. You don’t need to have green fingers either any more as there are many artificial plants that imitate the real ones perfectly.

blue tablemat

The blue tablemat was, until now, available only in summer. From now on it will be seen in our autumn-winter seasons also.

AUTUMN COLOURS

The Pantone Institute reminds us of the palette of colours that have inspired worldwide designers in their creations for this autumn-winter season. Neutral and timeless colours this year are grey sharkskin and light brown warm taupe. Surprising colour notes come in the form of exuberant green lush meadow, yellow mustard, dusty cedar pink and purple bodacious. Red colour and the brown potter’s clay recur every year, keeping a dynamic and warm tone during the coldest months. And, to finish the palette, airy blue and riverside blue are the innovation of this year, with a look to settle in for future seasons.

Come to our shops in Madrid and Barcelona to try out our new colours of tablecloths and napkins. A simple change in colours can give a renewed feel to your place.
