HOLIDAY MENUS FOR DELIVERY

We could say that, apart from being a religious event, the Christmas holidays are a gastronomic and social time. It’s the season when many of us organise numerous get togethers: eating with family, friends, colleagues, the yoga group, etc. Who cooks? What’s the menu? At whose? Shall we go to the restaurant? Shall we get a take away?

Butchers, restaurants and take away places see how year after year their Christmas campaigns get more and more intense, since consumers increasingly choose to buy a take away meal or a menu delivery to eat at home.

Cupcakes, muffins or madeleines?

These terms are so new that we still confuse them, but a pastry cook knows well that each of these cakes need different ingredients and preparation.

Delivery. Gourmet food now for take away too

Some food delivery companies have broken the moulds. From now on, you don’t just need a pizza, kebab or Chinese food craving in order to get a take away. There are companies bringing traditional restaurant food as well as the coolest restaurant’s menu with the latest gastronomic tendencies over to their client’s houses.

Creative tapas, creative containers

Tapas are much more than just a small portion. In Spain they are a sociable activity, a way of sharing with friends and family, a way of going out; it’s eating in company in a casual and spontaneous way. Tapas is such an established habit in the Spanish culture (although it’s not a very old custom, dating “only” from the 19th century), that the Minister of Culture proposed “Tapas” to be declared as World Heritage by UNESCO. Tapas don’t boast this title yet but nevertheless, there is World Tapas Day, which is celebrated on the 3rd Thursday of June.
