New products 2018-19

NEWS CATALOGUE 2018/19

Our policy of respect for the environment gets stronger every year. We have been awarded environmental certifications that demonstrate our firm commitment to replacing plastic products with environmentally-friendly products. All this is clearly reflected in our new catalogue.

We have been awarded the prestigious ECOLABEL certificate for the majority of white tissue, single colour and recyclable napkins; the environmentally-friendly products we manufacture include rolled up towelettes, sachet wipes and Flush-Linen hand wipes, which are fully flushable, 100% biodegradable, 100% natural, contain no chemical binders, and are compostable and FSC/PEFC certified.

As for the disposable Like-Linen napkins, the combination of viscose and cellulose means they are much stronger, soft to the touch and feel like linen, although they are compostable and biodegradable. A new addition to this line is COTTAGE (pg. 51), with a more rustic design and new measurements (45x45cm).

An increasing volume of more sustainable or recyclable raw materials are being used in our manufacturing processes, and we are expanding the range of items made from kraft natural: the refreshing CITRON towelettes (pg. 113) are a version of the classics but made from kraft paper to give them a “natural” colour instead of white; we have added four new kraft sachet products to the JUST IN TIME range (pgs. 56 and 57). We have used more sustainable bamboo fibre for the ECO BAMBOO napkins (pg. 52), which are 100% biodegradable, environmentally-friendly, renewable, recyclable and compostable. We are also presenting new designs using recycled material for our Nairobi and Maya table covers and napkins (pg. 32).

Also new to the catalogue are the 40×40 napkins (pg. 39), the Canguro natura napkin (pg. 40) and the Tú y yo” natura table cloth (pg. 44) in natural kraft colour, an option that was unavailable until now in the AIRLAID range. We have also expanded our offer of paper straws (pg. 92) to include kraft colours, black and assorted colours, replacing the classic plastic straws. By using recyclable material, we manage to avoid the huge environmental impact caused by plastic while bearing in mind that this is a highly popular product that has become increasingly widespread in recent times. We have also expanded the offer of SOS bags, a line to which we have added bags for one and two bottles (pg. 145); we have created new sizes for bags with and without handles; and we have expanded the designs and colours for all other sizes (pg. 196). We have added the new TIMES model (pg. 203) to the line of SOS Catering bags.

We have created a new line of cornets, baskets and boxes for hamburgers made from corrugated cardboard, called ONDULATTO (pg. 227), which gives the product a more natural design. Also new are the packaging alternatives aimed at CASH & CARRY businesses: COMBO (pg. 229) incorporates the base and lid in a single packaging product (in different bags until now and a factor that made presentation for sale difficult).

All these new items, the addition of new materials and product range enlargements are a clear reflection of our firm commitment to sustainability, but also of a desire from García de Pou to offer enhanced product quality to our clients. Our catalogue grows in every sense each year, not only in terms of quantity but also quality. The 2018/2019 catalogue includes the new items mentioned above, but that’s not all of them. The next entry in our blog will talk about more product range enlargements and the other biodegradable materials we have introduced as the raw material for our products.
