García de Pou Canarias

New Cash & Carry in the Canary Islands

The first Cash & Carry from García de Pou opened its doors this September in Tenerife. The new facilities are part of a recently built unit that will house a 2,000 m2 warehouse, the Cash & Carry itself, measuring 1,000 m2, and a free 400 m2 parking lot for customers. The new facilities have created a dozen jobs, representing a 50% increase of the García de Pou workforce on the Canary Islands. The new sales point is found on Calle Tijarafe, 8, on the Los Majuelos industrial estate in La Laguna; open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. continuously.

The new self-service system offers clients a large selection of samples of some 6,000 items and, in contrast to catalogue sales, it allows the product to be seen in person with customers able to try before they buy.

In the Canary Islands since 2005

Since 2005, García de Pou has offered its services across the Canary Islands, arriving at any point on the seven islands within 24-48 hours. The first unit (1,200 m2) was set up in Tenerife and was later expanded in 2013 to respond to growing demand for their services across the whole archipelago.

A first-class tourist destination

Britain, Germany, Scandinavia and Spain are the main tourist markets for the Canary Islands, which in 2016 broke their record for visitors with 13.3 million foreign tourists, situating it among the top ten most visited Spanish destinations for foreign tourists in the summer. Mainland domestic tourism grew by 8.5% in 2016 and the Canary Islands Government expects growth of 10% by the end of 2017.

This influx is served by an abundance of hotel chains and restaurants. García de Pou supplies the archipelago with a broad range of single-use products that meet the daily needs of all categories of hotels, restaurants and other general catering and events establishments.
