Álex de la Iglesia has just released the comedy Mi gran noche (click to view trailer) with the singer Raphael headlining and an amazing cast filled with familiar faces: Mario Casas, Blanca Suárez, Santiago Segura, Pepón Nieto, Terele Pávez, Carmen Machi, Hugo Silva… The latest film of the Basque director is set in a special New Year’s Eve television recording and Garcia de Pou has collaborated giving their products.

José has been sent by a Temporary Work Agency, in the middle of August, to an industrial unit on the outskirts of Madrid to work in the recording of a special new year’s Eve gala. Hundreds of extras like him have been there for a week and a half, while they pretend to celebrate with joy the false coming of the New Year. They are desperate. Alphonso, the musical star, is capable of anything to be sure that his performance will have the highest TV audience. Adanne, its antagonist, is a young latino singer that is hounded by fans who want to blackmail him. Program hosts hate each other and they are competing to win the trust of the producer. But what nobody knows is that the life of Alphonso is in danger (Synopsis in Spanish by Europe Press).

Garcia de Pou was the first company introducing into the market the Cotillion bags fifty-five years ago. This time has collaborated with its products in the hilarious new picture of the Bilbao filmmaker. Scenography team opted for articles in golden and yellow tones very suitable for the new year’s Eve, being the best-selling products for these dates.

The crazy comedy means Raphael’s return to the big screen after forty years. The legendary artist gives life masterfully to a melodic singer named Alphonso, and sings “Mi gran noche” that gives the film its title. Mario Casas plays the role of Adanne, a Latino teen idol. Mixing fiction and reality, Adanne has a real fan club in social networks, the “adanniers”.
