GARCIA DE POU IN BARCELONA. A STORE WITH HISTORY

In the neighbourhood of El Born, directly opposite the Ciutadella Park and the Museum of Natural Sciences, has been our store in Barcelona for thirty-five years. This is one of the only self-service establishments in the city with a wide range of all kinds of professional products and disposable products for the world of hospitality.

Domènech i Montaner

The modernist Castle of the Three Dragons, one of the sites of the Museum of Natural Sciences, was designed by Domènech i Montaner as a café-restaurant for the Universal Exhibition of 1888.

The store is located in one of the buildings with arcade of the Picasso’s Promenade, devised by Josep Fontserè in 1872, who was the same author of the old Born market. Adapted for commercial use, the place keeps the fine metal columns and the roof arches, vestiges of the industrial society of the late nineteenth century. More than 1,500 products are offered organized into sections: from table mats and napkins, to blackboards, cake doilies or paper bags. This makes it very simple and quick find everything you are looking for and, in any case, customers who visit us can always count upon the support of an experienced sales team.

Among the new items you will find in the Barcelona establishment we would stress, for example, cones for crêpes, also available in sheets to serve this dessert without having it to roll; both supports can be customized with the logo and colours of the customer. Another interesting novelty presented in the 2016 catalog are the Eco-Flush towelettes. They desintegrate quickly thanks to a sophisticated new technology that has allowed make them 100% natural and biodegradable, without chemical binders.

“Turn around the world and return to El Born” is a Catalan saying that recreates medieval legends, since ‘el born’ was the space where the tournament took place, a central location to which all returned sooner or later. The phrase means that finally everything is likely to end up where it has started. Surely if you visit Garcia de Pou in Barcelona, you will come back; we hope you find everything there.
